The Housing Support Worker is responsible to provide housing supports to criminalized women and girls in Nova Scotia and to those at risk of becoming criminalized because of a lack of stable and secure housing.
The Housing Support Worker is responsible for attending the By-Name Meetings twice a month and bring clients to that table for secure housing. The Housing Support Worker works with clients in the community to help them secure stable long term housing. This may include navigating the Income Assistance program, searching for apartments with potential clients, helping to fill out applications and act as a mediator between clients and potential landlords. The Housing Support Worker will meet with potential Holly House residents inside the provincial institution of Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility and work with them on the application for residency.
The Housing Support Worker is responsible for the management of Holly House, our eight bed facility located at 1 Tulip St, Dartmouth, NS. This includes maintaining the policies, intake and exit process for residents and potential residents of Holly House.
